Voor de WESTRA TJOTTER 770 hebben we gekozen voor 4,8 kW Elektroaandrijving van Bellmann Drive Systems, waarbij je een maximale snelheid kunt behalen van 12 km/h. Met een snelheid van ongeveer 8 km/h tot 10 km/h kun je hier 8 uren mee varen. In één nacht kan de batterij weer volledig worden opgeladen.Meestal worden semi-tractie accu’s gebruikt voor energieopslag. Bij de WESTRA TJOTTER 770 maken wij gebruik van een 6V tractiebatterij. Even anders varen
Je merkt het meteen als je instapt. De Opstapper 600 beweegt nauwelijks, blijft ook overeind als drie volwassenen aan één kant gaan zitten. Hoe kan dat in zo’n scheepje van 6 meter lang en 2 meter breed? De verklaring is dat je in een aluminium-knikspantvlet stapt met een zeer laag zwaartepunt. Anders varen: je merkt het zodra je van wal steekt. Geluidloos glijdt de Opstapper 600 door het water. Alleen het schroefwater is te horen. En dat kan flink opspatten, want met ‘het gas’ helemaal open haal je 10 km per uur. Oorzaak: de krachtbron is een sterke elektromotor (48 volt/4,5 Kw), vergelijkbaar met een 25 pk dieselmotor. En daarin ligt ook het geheim van de hoge stabiliteit: laag op de bodem voeden acht zware accu’s de motor, deels onder de waterlijn. Heel anders varen dus. Dat geldt zeker ook voor het uiterlijk van dit scheepje, dat nog het meest doet denken aan een ‘roeiersvlet’ die je in de Rotterdamse haven de trossen van zeeschepen naar de wal ziet brengen: eenvoudig, functioneel, maar zeer degelijk afgewerkt. De Opstapper 600 kan tegen een stootje. |

When we had an opportunity to take a cruise on a Duffy Electric Boat, we were impressed by the quiet, relaxing ride and ease of operation it provided. We found that you could, quite literally, "unplug, untie and unwind". One thing lead to another, and we acquired a Duffy for our family's use. Our children and grandchildren love being out on the water and a Duffy is the ideal boat for family outings.

Am Sonntag den. 6. Mai ist es am Neusiedler See soweit: Ab 11 Uhr stellt Schmalzl erstmals seinen jüngsten Wurf, die Julika 660 vor. Das schlanke Runabout basiert auf einem 1947 in der Happe Werft in Dellach gebauten Holzboot. Die Idee dazu kam dem Veldener Bootsbauer, nachdem er das Original renoviert und mit einem 50 kW starken Kräutler-Motor inklusive Lithium-Polymer-Akkus ausgestattet hatte (siehe auch YR 8/2006 und 10/2006). Die Performance des renovierten Bootes stellte andere Hightech-Boote derart in den Schatten, dass Schmalzl und sein Sohn Paul auf Basis der Julika ein neues, geringfügig modifiziertes, alltagstaugliches Motorboot mit Elektroantrieb entwarfen. Die Eckdaten: Die Julika 660 ist länger, breiter und bietet dementsprechend mehr Platz; im Original sitzt man doch recht beengt. Statt aus Holz wird der Rumpf aus GFK gefertigt, das Deck besteht aus Hochglanz-Mahagoni. |

"sun21" sets world record!
Using solar power only, the catamaran "sun21" undertook the first motorized crossing of the Atlantic with solar power to promote the great potential of this technology for ocean navigation. The "sun21" arrived in New York City on 8 May 2007, 3 pm, having covered about 7000 sea miles. The journey of sun21 was made possible by the association transatlantic21. After the activities in New York, the association donated the solar boat to the WWF Adena/Madrid who will use it as scientific research vessel.
Recently, the crew of the sun21 was awarded by the Guinness World Records for the fastest transatlantic crossing made completely under solar power.
At the moment, the boat still lies to anchor at the harbour, waiting for authentication of the Spanish maritime authority. |
