TM4 has the skills and resources to assist you throughout the product development process of your Electric Traction System and supply you in volume.
In 2003, TM4 custom-designed the first generation of Electric Traction Systems for SVE’s Cleanova. This system is an integrated traction system combining an electric motor and a generator coupled to an internal combustion engine (ICE). This unique traction system uses a clutch system that enables reconfiguration of the drive line from a high torque electric vehicle to a series hybrid. The latest version of the system is a dual system, series parallel hybrid or electric, on command. |

Significant reduction in CO2 emission is expected by replacing conventional gasoline engines with HEV engines. We have developed a small-size lightweight motor capable of generating high output, and an inverter capable of driving and controlling high-output motor with superb efficiency. HEV engine combining these motor and inverter to control drive power with high efficiency will contribute to substantial reduction in fuel consumption and emission gas. We also offer a wide variety of motors and inverters with an output of 42V and higher, for use in compact cars, large-sized passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and buses. |

PowM can accept as load several motor topology as brushed or brushless; source is represented by battery with a voltage in 100 - 300V range. PowM is able to manage a intelligent Power Handling between load and source. In this way AKU solution can execute both motor driving and intelligent high voltage battery management. |

We are also working on increasing powertrain electrification, which will increase the efficiency of future cars and reduce their CO2 emissions. The car of the future will become particularly eco-friendly, especially when it is powered with electricity generated from renewable resources. It is safe to say that, in the years to come, the range of drivetrain technologies will grow.
On the path toward powertrain electrification, our current development activities focus on the hybrid engine, on purely electric driving, or on the range extender. The latter is a small combustion engine that powers a generator, which then charges a battery over longer distances. This battery, in turn, delivers energy for an electric motor. Besides these technologies, we are also working on the fuel cell as an energy converter. Powertrain electrification is becoming ever more important. This is because the electric motor is the most efficient means of powering a car. With one kilowatt hour of energy, a conventional combustion engine can cover a distance between 1.5 and 2.5 kilometers. Even the diesel hybrid, which combines a diesel engine with an electric motor, can cover a maximum of 3.2 kilometers on the same amount of energy. In contrast, a car with an electric motor can get 6.5 kilometers out of one kilowatt hour. This is why we believe that in the distant future, the car will be powered by an electric motor. |

A British specialist in electric vehicle drivetrains will provide advanced technology for a prestigious US Government-backed electric commercial vehicle programme.
A range of electric delivery vehicles being developed for the North, Central and South American markets will use a highly integrated 70kW powertrain from UK specialist Zytek. Developed with the support of a $39 million (£23 million) US Government grant, the vehicles will be manufactured by a new joint venture company being established by US truck supplier Navistar and British electric commercial vehicle specialist Modec.
Zytek’s E-Drive provides an ideal basis for EV development as it allows fast integration with new or existing vehicle platforms and is thoroughly proven. A substantial number of units are already in service as part of successful programmes that include Daimler’s smart ed and Modec’s existing range of electric light commercial vehicles. Zytek has also provided technology and integration expertise for General Motors and Chrysler to support production and concept vehicle programmes. |
