EV-0 RR Zero Emissions Race Bike

Xenophya were approached by Evo Design Solutions to create some concept illustrations for their entry in the 2009 TTXGP Zero Emissions race at the Isle of Man in June 2009.

The EV-0 RR is a development of the Monocoque chassis developed by Peter Williams and Lotus, using twin electric motors to produce an infinitely tuneable torque curve.

The ION was conceived, designed, modeled and constructed in a single semester with a "minimal budget" rendering results that are most impressive indeed. The 84 volt, lithium battery-powered bike uses an AC motor that yields 105 lb feet of torque, 46 hp and allows for regenerative braking. Top speed is estimated at about 80 mph with a range of 60 miles while the waiting time for a full charge using a typical household plug is six hours

Siemens has teamed up with custom motorcycle manufacturer Orange County Choppers to build the first custom electric motorcycle - the Siemens Smart Chopper.

American sportbike builder Roehr Motorcycles has announced the addition of two electric-powered sportbikes to its 2010 lineup. The Gurnee, Illinois-based company promises the new bikes, dubbed the eSuperbike and eSupersport, will debut this Spring. The higher-spec eSuperbike will also compete in the North American championship of the electric-racing TTXGP series.

The KTM electric motorcycle is a race-ready dual sport with 29.5lb/ft of torque. That may not sound like much, but at just 90kg (198lbs), it weighs 7kg less than KTM's own 125cc enduro. That's the torque of a 250cc two-stroke -- all of which will be available from 1rpm -- wrapped up in a package that's lighter than a 125. The lithium ion batteries give the electric KTM a range of about 40 minutes under "race conditions."
